Alaminos, Laguna — On February 7, 2025, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)
demonstrated its support for the Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP), which was held in front of
the Alaminos Municipal Hall.
The KNP initiative eliminates market levels and allows farmers to sell directly to
customers. Additionally, the initiative intends to connect micro, small, and medium
enterprises in agriculture, manufacturing, retail, and services directly with consumers. By
strengthening distribution channels, they may optimize their earnings, so boosting
economic growth.
The local government unit of Alaminos has decided to conduct KNP twice a year, and the
current one is the first KNP being conducted for this year. It was successfully launched
through the combined efforts of the Department of Agriculture and its partners—the
Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Labor and Employment, Department of
Social Welfare and Development, Department of the Interior and Local Government, as
well as relevant departments within the Alaminos Local Government Unit.
As part of DTI Laguna’s commitment in supporting the initiative, a Diskwento Caravan
was organized in partnership with Puregold-Alaminos, Laguna, and Generika.
Additionally, three microentrepreneurs took part in the trade fair: 3A Footwear, EFF
Footwear and Mywill Food Products.
Some of the customers included employees of the Alaminos Municipal Hall, members of
the Bureau of Fire Protection), students and teachers from nearby schools, as well as local
residents of Alaminos. Moreover, shoppers who visited after hearing about KNP’s
presence in the area were also spotted onsite (MOCalongcalong, DTI-Laguna).
