The Bureau of Customs-Port of Batangas under District Collector Atty. Rhea Gregorio seized vessel “MT
HARMONY STAR” loaded with 700,000 liters of unmarked diesel in the coastal waters of Brgy. Mainaga, Mabini,Batangas on Tuesday, 08 February 2023. By virtue of Mission Order No. 07-2023 issued by District Collector Atty.Ma. Rhea M. Gregorio, the Customs Police Division of the Port conducted inspection of local tanker vessels carrying fuel within its jurisdiction. The captain of the vessel failed to show any proof of payment of duties and taxes for the cargo to the Bureau of Customs. Likewise, the fuel samples taken from the trucks and the vessel failed the marking test. The Coasting Manifest and Voyage Plan indicates that the cargo is unmanifested.
