The Provincial Government of Cavite, through the Office of the Provincial CooperatIves Development Officer (OPCDO), conducted a livelihood training on food processing on August 25, 2026, at the Office of the Provincial General Services Office (OPGSO) Pantry Area of the New Provincial Government Center in Trece Martires City.
The training was attended by 40 family members of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), who were provided with practical knowledge and skills in food processing as an avenue for additional income and livelihood opportunities.
The activity aimed to equip participants with basic food processing techniques that they can potentially apply in starting or expanding small-scale livelihood ventures. Through hands-on learning and practical demonstrations, the participants gained valuable skills that may help them develop food products for personal consumption or commercialization.
The initiative forms part of the Provincial Government’s continuing efforts to empower OFW families by providing them with skills and opportunities that can contribute to their economic stability and self-reliance.
Through programs such as this, the PGC continues to support OFW families by promoting livelihood development and providing avenues for them to acquire practical skills that can translate into sustainable sources of income. — OPIO
