The Provincial Government of Cavite, through the Office of the Provincial
Cooperatives Development Officer (OPCDO), in partnership with the Provincial
Cooperative Development Council (PCDC) of Cavite, successfully conducted
the 2026 Cooperative Leaders’ Conference on October 14, 2026, at the Cavite
Provincial Government Center, Trece Martires City, Cavite. The conference
brought together 220 cooperative leaders from across the province for a
meaningful day of learning, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing.
Carrying this year’s theme, “Building Bridges: Cooperative Leaders
Fostering Trust for a Peaceful World,” the conference highlighted the vital role of
cooperative leaders in building trust, strengthening partnerships, and fostering
peaceful and progressive communities. Through insightful discussions and
knowledge-sharing sessions, participants gained valuable perspectives on topics
relevant to the theme and the continued development of their respective
cooperatives.
The activity was graced by Ms. Cherry Reyes, the Division Chief of
Cooperative Research, Information & Training Division of CDA, delivered the keynote
address and shared valuable insights with the cooperative leaders. The conference
also featured knowledgeable resource speakers who shared their expertise and
perspectives, namely Ms. Camille L. Baluyot, Training Unit Head of Cooperative
Academy of NATCCO Network; Mr. John Phillip Tan, Project Development Officer
from the DICT-Cavite; Mr. John Michael Nazarino Trade-Industry Development
Specialist from DTI – Bureau of Market Development, Promotions, and OTOP; and a
video presentation from Ms. Beverly Villaruel, Local Government Operations Officer
of the DILG-Cavite.
To conclude the conference, Mr. Edan Aguilar, representing the primary
cooperatives, and Mr. Michael Dasig, representing the secondary cooperatives,
shared their reflections and key takeaways from the sessions. Their insights
highlighted the value of the conference in broadening perspectives, strengthening
leadership, and inspiring cooperative leaders to apply their learnings in their
respective organizations.
The 2026 Cooperative Leaders’ Conference served as a reminder that
effective cooperative leadership goes beyond managing an organization—it is about
building relationships, nurturing trust, and creating meaningful connections among
people and communities. #CaviteCooperatives #CoopMonth2026
