Local Government Units (LGUs) from CALABARZON were among the recipients of assistance under the Disaster Rehabilitation and Recovery Assistance Program (DRRAP), pursuant to the DILG-OCD Joint Circular No. 1, s. 2026. The ceremonial turnover was held at the Heroes Hall of MalacaΓ±an Palace on November 5, 2026, led by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Executive Secretary Ralph G. Recto.
A total of β±425 million in DRRAP assistance will be provided to eligible LGUs in the region, particularly those affected by the combined effects of the Enhanced Southwest Monsoon and Tropical Cyclones LUIS, MAYMAY, and NENENG in 2026.
The identified beneficiary LGUs include the Province of Batangas, together with the Municipalities of Lian, San Jose, Nasugbu, Agoncillo, Balayan, Bauan, and San Nicolas; the Province of Cavite, together with the Cities of Trece Martires and Imus, and the Municipality of Naic; the Province of Laguna; the Province of Quezon, together with the Municipalities of Polillo and Alabat; and the Province of Rizal, together with the City of Antipolo and the Municipality of Rodriguez.
The DRRAP provides financial assistance to local governments to support the rehabilitation, reconstruction, and recovery of communities affected by natural and human-induced calamities. The assistance will help recipient LGUs restore damaged infrastructure, rebuild essential facilities, and implement priority recovery projects to facilitate the resumption of essential services and strengthen community resilience.
As part of its continuing commitment to support local recovery efforts, the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) CALABARZON, through its Recovery and Rehabilitation Management Section (RRMS), will provide technical assistance to recipient LGUs, particularly on the proper utilization of DRRAP funds and compliance with the necessary requirements prior to project implementation. OCD CALABARZON will also conduct project monitoring to track implementation progress, ensure adherence to applicable guidelines, and help address challenges that may arise during the implementation of recovery projects.
Through these efforts, OCD CALABARZON reinforces its role in ensuring that national government assistance is translated into concrete and meaningful recovery outcomes for affected communities. In close coordination with recipient LGUs and concerned agencies, the Regional Office remains committed to facilitating efficient, accountable, and timely rehabilitation and recovery initiatives toward safer, more resilient, and disaster-ready communities across CALABARZON.
