MCWD INKS P41.4-B DESAL WATER PROJECT—- Water consumers in the Cities of Mandaue and Cebu will be benefitted from signing of Metropolitan Cebu Water District ( MCWD) and PILIPINAS Water Resources Inc.( PWRI) two contracts to produce desalinated seawater.
The first contract was signed in December 28,2022 while the second was last February 7.
PWRI will deliver 10 million liters per day (MLD) in the first 19 months and 25 MLD in the succeeding years for 25 years. It’s desalination plant will be established within PWRI’s property in Barangay Mambaling in Cebu City and this will benefit consumers in Barangays Basak, Tagunol,Pasil, Ermita and Mambaling.
While the December contract, PWRI will supply 25MLD for 25 years and it’s desalination plant will be located in Barangay Opao in MANDAUE City.
The two contracts amounted to P20.7 billion or total of P41.4 billion.
