Cavite Governor Francisco Gabriel โAbengโ D. Remulla served as Guest of Honor during the commemoration of the 128th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence held this morning, June 12, 2026, at the historic Emilio Aguinaldo Shrine (NHCP Museo ni Emilio Aguinaldo) in Kawit, Cavite.
The Philippine National Police stood in solidarity with the Filipino people in honoring the nation’s forefathers through the presence of PCOL GLENN D LONOGAN, Deputy Regional Director for Administration of PRO CALABARZON, and PCOL ARIEL R RED, Provincial Director of the Cavite Police Provincial Office, alongside officials from partner agencies, local government units, and other distinguished guests. Their participation symbolized the unwavering commitment of government institutions to safeguard the freedoms won through the sacrifices of the country’s heroes.
Held at the very site where General Emilio Aguinaldo proclaimed Philippine independence from Spanish colonial rule on June 12, 1898, the solemn flag-raising ceremony served as a powerful reminder of Cavite’s historic role as the cradle of Philippine independence and the birthplace of the Filipino nation’s enduring spirit of patriotism and resilience.
The commemoration reaffirmed the shared responsibility of all sectors to preserve the country’s rich historical legacy and uphold the ideals of courage, unity, and selfless service that defined the struggle for independence. More than a remembrance of the past, the observance served as a call to action for every Filipino to protect the nation’s hard-earned freedom, strengthen national unity, and continue building a peaceful, progressive, and secure Philippines for future generations.
