After a seven-year hiatus, the Provincial Government of Cavite (PGC), through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) led by Engr. Anna Pamela N. Cruz, successfully revived the Provincial 4-H Club Farm Youth Summit 2026 on June 24, at the OPE Conference Room, New Provincial Government Center, Trece Martires City. With the theme “Empowering Youth, Engaging Communities,” the summit highlighted the province’s commitment to developing future agricultural leaders and strengthening youth participation in community development.
Last conducted on March 26, 2019, the summit marked the return of the provincial gathering of the 4-H Club, which has been established in Cavite since 1995. The event gathered officers and members from the 4-H Clubs of Maragondon, Naic, Indang, General Emilio Aguinaldo (Bailen), Trece Martires City, Alfonso, and Silang.
The program opened with the 4-H welcome rituals, followed by the acknowledgment of participants by Ms. Jannette B. Sierra, Provincial 4-H Coordinator. Mr. Mario E. Rotairo, Senior Agriculturist, delivered the welcome remarks, while Engr. Anna Pamela N. Cruz encouraged the youth to become active partners in advancing agriculture through leadership, innovation, and community service. Mr. Gabriel A. Arubio, Regional FVLP President, also inspired the delegates with a message emphasizing the vital role of young people in shaping the future of Philippine agriculture.
The summit featured three learning sessions: “Youth Leadership 101” by Mr. June Louise A. Sabino; “Leading with Empathy: Moving Away from Traditional Command and Control Leadership toward Inclusive, Empathic Guidance” by Mr. Mark Joshua Delos Santos; and “Rooted in 4-H, Growing in Business: Cultivating the Next Generation of Agripreneurs” by Mr. Prince Arvin A. Signo, Provincial and Regional 4-H Club President and National Executive Vice President.
Beyond the learning sessions, participants actively engaged in group activities that encouraged teamwork, leadership, and creative thinking. They confidently shared their ideas, showcased their wit and ingenuity, and demonstrated the values of collaboration and active participation.
The summit also reaffirmed the guiding principles of the 4-H Club—Head, Heart, Hands, and Health, along with its motto, “To Make the Best Better” (Ang Magaling ay Pagbutihin pa), and slogan, “Learning by Doing” (Matuto Habang Gumagawa), inspiring participants to continue learning through meaningful experiences and community involvement.
The program concluded with the awarding of certificates and the closing remarks of Engr. Anna Pamela N. Cruz, who encouraged the delegates to apply the knowledge and values they gained in promoting sustainable agriculture and youth leadership in their respective communities.
The successful revival of the Provincial 4-H Club Farm Youth Summit underscores the Provincial Government of Cavite’s continued commitment to empowering young leaders and cultivating a new generation of innovative farmers, agripreneurs, and advocates of sustainable agricultural development. — OPIO
